Introduction

We, the Corbion group entity for which you apply (click here for an overview), are the controller of your personal data and through this notice we wish to tell you how we use the information you submit when you apply for a job or create a profile in our recruitment platform.

What information do we collect?

We only collect information relevant to assess and proceed with your application, such as:

  • your personal identifiers and contact details, e.g. your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and other contact details;
  • information listed on your resume, e.g. your employment history, your academic background, your certifications, references and information about your skills;
  • your desired terms of employment, e.g. preferred country of employment, desired compensation, areas of interest;
  • whether you are eligible to legally working in the country of the Corbion entity you applied for.

Corbion may also collect and process information you provide us in interviews or assessments. In the event we contact references, we process the information these references provide to us. We may also ask you to see an identification document to verify your identity.

If you apply via our website, we also process your Corbion Account details, your username and password, country of residence and your preferences regarding whether you would like to be notified of future vacancies.

We also collect information on the use of our website via cookies. Please check our Cookie Policy for more information.

How do we use your information?

We use information you supply in support of your application and other information we collect in connection with processing your application so that we can consider your application, assess your suitability, conduct eligibility checks and for equal employment opportunities purposes. We use your data for the purpose of managing our recruitment process and so that we can take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.

If a position that is, or may be, of interest to you requires background checks, we will tell you about this and limit such background check to what is necessary for the role to which you have applied. Where necessary, we will also use this data for the purpose of our legitimate interests in accessing appropriate professional advice and in order to ensure we comply with legal obligations to which our business is subject.

When you apply for a position with us or submit information in support of your application, we will tell you whether the information we are requesting is essential so that we can proceed with your application or whether the supply of this information is optional. If you are not able to provide us with information we consider essential, we may not be able to proceed with your application.

Additionally, your information may be processed for other purposes to which you have consented, such as sending you information about relevant vacancies (Job Alerts) as indicated through the Corbion Account you created.

How long do we keep this information for?

You will be asked to create a profile in our recruitment platform when applying for a vacancy. We usually retain information supplied by job applicants with respect to a particular vacancy as long as legally required or needed for a legal or business purpose following a relevant recruitment decision unless you give us permission to retain your details for longer to be considered for other vacancies or if we are required to retain your data for longer periods based on applicable local laws. Please contact us to learn the applicable retention period in your country.

You may also create a profile without applying to a particular vacancy. In this case, we will keep your personal information for 1 (one) year of inactivity in our recruitment platform (i.e. from the date of the last log-in to your account) unless local laws require a shorter or longer retention period.

If your application is successful, relevant information will be used for the purpose of administrating your subsequent employment and will be retained and used in accordance with our Corbion Employee Privacy Policy (a copy of which will be provided when you take up your employment).

Whom do we share this information with?

Where necessary so that we can manage our recruitment process, we will share your information with relevant Corbion group entities (and their employees, on a need-to-know basis), our service providers (such as SuccessFactors) and professional advisers (e.g. recruitment agencies, providers who carry out background checks on our behalf, and, if applicable to the role you are applying for, suppliers who run candidate assessment programs for us).

We will also contact third parties whose details you have supplied so that we can verify information you have supplied in relation to your previous employment and qualifications.

Where do we transfer this information to?

Some of the information you send us in support of your job application may be shared with other Corbion group entities or service providers located outside of the country of the Corbion group entity to which you are applying, including outside of the European Economic Area ("EEA"). These countries may include, among others, countries in which we have operations (read more here) and countries where our service providers are located or have data centers, such as the United States.

We will ensure that your personal data will be protected according to at least the same standards of protection as provided in the country of the Corbion group entity to which you are applying. To secure the transfer of your data, we rely on various additional data protection measures, including appropriate contractual arrangements. If required by applicable law, we will also conduct a security impact assessment prior to the transfer. If you require further information about these safeguards, please contact us using the details below.

Your rights

You are entitled to ask Corbion for an overview or a copy of your information. In addition, you may request us to correct or delete certain data, restrict processing of your data, ask about personal data which Corbion may have shared with any public or private third parties or ask Corbion to transfer some of this information to other organizations. In some cases, you may object to the processing of your data and, where Corbion asked for your consent to process data, you can withdraw this consent at any time.

There are some exceptions to these rights, however. If you are applying to a Corbion entity located outside of the EEA, (some of) the above rights may not apply. In addition, specific rights may not apply to a specific situation. For example, it will not be possible for us to delete your data if we are required by law to keep it or if we hold it in connection with a contract with you. Similarly, access to your data may be refused if making the information available would reveal personal information about another person or if we are legally prevented from disclosing such information.

If you wish to exercise any of these rights or have questions about which rights apply to your situation, please contact us using the details below.

Security

We will use all reasonable endeavors to maintain the security of all your personal data and to protect such data from misuse, interference and loss and against unauthorized collection, copying, access, modification or disclosure.
