Biobased lactides for PLA
For the plastics industry we offer lactide resins for high performance PLA (poly lactic acid) - a biobased plastic with a low carbon footprint that’s used in packaging, disposables, fibers, electronics and automotive markets.
In packaging alone, PLA can be thermoformed, injection molded and foamed. Our high-heat PLA technology can withstand boiling water, which opens up new bioplastic application possibilities – for example, as hot food clamshells, hot beverage cups and hot noodle containers. Read more>>

Biobased succinic acid for PBS
In partnership with BASF, our Succinity GmbH is producing biobased succinic acid delivered through a new, improved process that maximizes use of renewable substrates while minimizing greenhouse emissions. For the industry it’s simple: A viable alternative to petrochemical-based materials.
Biobased FDCA for PEF
Our fermentation based FDCA replaces Terephthalate in PET plastics.
PEF is superior to PET in several ways. It’s more versatile, with six times’ better barrier properties, which opens up entirely new application areas. It also provides attractive costs thanks to a greater low-cost Ethylene Glycol monomer content. And it’s kind to the planet, with a lower carbon footprint. Read more>>
