Nurture what’s next

No one can solve the challenges we're facing as a world alone.

NURTURE NEXT by Corbion: open innovation to shape what’s next

At Corbion, innovation is in our DNA. For more than a century, science and technology have been at the heart of how we create value and help address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

But we also know we don’t have all the answers.

With NURTURE NEXT, we’re looking beyond our own walls for promising technologies, ideas and capabilities that could help shape what’s next.

We’re particularly interested in connecting with scale-ups and start-ups working in food preservation and nutrition. By bringing together your technology and entrepreneurial thinking with our scientific expertise, application knowledge, large-scale manufacturing and capabilities, we believe we can unlock opportunities that neither of us could realize as effectively alone.

Frequently asked questions about open innovation

NURTURE NEXT is Corbion’s open innovation program. Through NURTURE NEXT, Corbion works with external partners to identify and develop promising technologies, ideas and capabilities in natural preservation and nutrition. By combining external innovation with Corbion’s expertise and capabilities, we aim to accelerate the development of solutions with commercial potential.

Open innovation at Corbion means combining external technologies, knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking with Corbion’s scientific expertise, application knowledge, process development and manufacturing capabilities. This allows us to explore new opportunities and help turn promising technologies into scalable, commercially relevant solutions.

Corbion is particularly interested in technologies and solutions with potential in natural preservation and nutrition. Through NURTURE NEXT, we also explore bioscience, fermentation and production technologies that could strengthen the way we develop and manufacture our core ingredients.

Through NURTURE NEXT, Corbion collaborates with start-ups, scale-ups, universities, research organizations and industry partners with promising technologies, specialist knowledge, or new approaches relevant to natural preservation and nutrition. We look for partnerships where our complementary capabilities can create value for both parties.

Corbion brings expertise in bioscience, biotechnology and fermentation, combined with capabilities in process development, pilot testing, scale-up, application development and manufacturing. Together, these capabilities can help partners validate technologies, address scale-up challenges and move promising solutions closer to commercial application.

NURTURE NEXT looks for technologies and ideas with clear potential in natural preservation or nutrition. We are particularly interested in opportunities that have progressed beyond the earliest research stage and show a credible path toward technical validation, regulatory approval, competitive performance, and commercial scale.

We believe valuable innovation can come from both inside and outside our organization. By bringing together Corbion’s capabilities with the technologies, expertise, and entrepreneurial thinking of external partners, we can explore opportunities that neither party might realize alone.

Sustainability is an important consideration in Corbion’s approach to innovation. It helps guide our priorities, investments, and partnerships as we look for solutions that can create value for customers and society.
